We honor the memory of Steven Stucky, the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer who was a member of our Board of Advisors and a great friend and mentor to our ensemble. Stucky was a judge for our first Young Composers Competition in 2013, and we hold this second installment of the competition in his memory, acknowledging his important legacy as teacher and supporter of young composers.
– Music by Stucky: “Cantus” (Philadelphia Premiere) and “Aus der Jugendzeit” (DSE commission)
– Fang Man, premiere of work in memory of Steven Stucky
– Zhou Tian, “Viaje” for Flute, Cello, and Piano
– Premieres of winning works by competition winners Jacob Beranek, Christopher Lazzaro, Benjamin Safran, and Nathan Scalise
