DSE Presents 2018-2019 season opens October 14!

September 16th, 2018

DSE Presents opens Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 3:00pm with “Dolce Suono Trio Classics and Commissions”!

Dolce Suono Trio

Mimi Stillman, flute
Nathan Vickery, cello
Charles Abramovic, piano

Music by Mendelssohn, Martinu, Bernstein, Jeremy Gill, and Zhou Tian

This dazzling program includes Mendelssohn’s beloved “Piano Trio #1 in D minor”, for which Mendelssohn prepared a flute part that was lost for 150 years. Bohuslav Martinu’s “Trio for Flute, Cello, and Piano” is a 20th-century classic. We join the global celebrations of Leonard Bernstein’s centennial in 2018 with Charles Abramovic’s new arrangement of his overture to “Candide”. Dolce Suono Trio highlights some of the excellent new works it has commissioned with Zhou Tian‘s “Viaje”, recorded on our newest album “American Canvas” and Jeremy Gill‘s “Ode”.
